Juneteenth Parade: Walk with Cadence Collins
Juneteenth Parade: Walk with Cadence Collins
Chilhowee Park
301 N Beaman St, Knoxville, TN 37914
Join Knox Young Democrats in supporting one of our very own Young Dems, Cadence Collins, candidate for School Board, as we walk with her in Knoxville’s Juneteenth Parade!
As we celebrate the emancipation of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, we also recognize that the work of achieving true freedom and equality continues. From book bans and attacks on public education to redistricting and barriers to representation, showing up in solidarity remains essential.
Parade registration and lineup begin at 8:30 AM at Chilhowee Park, with step-off at 10:00 AM. Following the parade, Juneteenth festivities will continue at Dr. Walter Hardy Park from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM with music, entertainment, vendors, and family-friendly activities.
Sign up and join us in supporting Cadence and celebrating Juneteenth with our community!

How to get involved:
Volunteer for a Tabling Shift

Observer Corps: Knox Co Commission
City County Building
400 Main St SW, Knoxville, TN 37902
Ever wonder how local decisions actually get made? Join the Knox Young Dems Observer Corps! We are civically engaged watchdogs who attend local government meetings to ensure transparency and accountability.
The Knox County Commission makes decisions every month on land use, healthcare, infrastructure and more - decisions that will shape Knox County for the next 30 years. Currently, the 18–35 demographic is underrepresented in these rooms. We are changing that by becoming the "eyes and ears" of the community.
