<h4>Board of Education: Book Ban Call to Action - Work Session</h4>

<p>The battle for our public school shelves didn't end with getting <em>Roots</em> back on the grid. It exposed just how much of the book review process is happening completely in the dark. A closed-door committee shouldn't be making decisions that dictate what access 60,000+ local students have to information and diverse stories.</p><p>That is exactly why the Knox Young Dems are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the League of Women Voters and their 14 community partners. We need a heavy presence of young progressives to echo this call for absolute transparency, accountability, and a formal, inclusive process at the Board of Education. Let's back this initiative, pack the upcoming board meetings, and make sure our local leaders hear us loud and clear!</p>

We are civically engaged watchdogs who attend local government meetings to ensure transparency and accountability.</p><p>The Knox County Commission makes decisions every month on land use, healthcare, infrastructure and more - decisions that will shape Knox County for the next 30 years.
